Minimalist design to match cityscapes
Daily city riding requires a lot yet is best packaged in simplicity. Pelago Bordeaux is a classic with all the timeless qualities that give you a reliable servant for getting on with your daily business and pleasure in the city.
The minimalist design of Pelago Bordeaux is inspired by the classic step-through city bicycles. All details serving your rides from A to B with some Cs, Ds, Xs and Ys added to the day-to-day routing. These aesthetics are relevant for the ages in our transforming urban living spaces.
Made with quality components, Pelago Bordeaux offers a reliable and smooth riding experience. Whether you’re a one ride a day kinda person (just hitting the streets for lunch, say) or getting things done all day with your bike here and there.
With these works, it all works
The rigid steel frame and comfortable Schwalbe Delta Cruiser tyres soften road vibrations. As you know, our historied towns tend to have their challenges with old-age-cracks and cobblestone paths. The robust steel fenders will protect you from splashes when it gets wet.
The Brooks leather saddle adds to the comfort, and we can tell you from experience that it breaks in after a while like a pair of nice leather shoes.
Low maintenance hub gears come in 3 and 7 speed variants depending if you’re after overall versatility or know there’ll be a lot of hills, kids or cargo adding to the challenge level of your rides.
The Bordeaux is equipped with mounting points for front and rear racks to extend your cargo capabilities.

• Frame size (1) is measured from the center of the Bottom Bracket Axis to the top of the Seat Tube (C-T).
• Rider Height suggests the average sizing for the bike-rider fit. If your height is between two sizes, choose the smaller size for more comfortable riding position.
• Stand Over Height (2) tells the height of the top tube measured from the ground. Your Inseam should always be higher than the Stand Over Height. (2)

What kind of riding is the Pelago Bordeaux designed for?
The Pelago Bordeaux is a classic, elegant women’s/unisex city bicycle featuring a low unisex step-through frame. It is specifically designed for daily commuting, quick grocery runs, and relaxed city riding. Thanks to the low step-through frame design, mounting and dismounting the bike is easy and safe, even when fully loaded or wearing a skirt. The upright riding position ensures excellent visibility in traffic while reducing strain on your neck and shoulders.
Which frame size is right for me?
The Bordeaux is available in two frame sizes: S (45 cm) and M (52 cm). You can check our specific sizing recommendations in the Pelago Size Guide. The ideal frame size depends on your height and your inseam. Because the Bordeaux features a low-step frame, stepping over it is effortless; however, choosing the correct size ensures optimal riding ergonomics. If your height falls between two sizes, we recommend choosing the smaller size for a more agile riding position. If you are unsure, feel free to contact us at contact@pelagobicycles.com.
What kind of accessories can be installed on the Pelago Bordeaux
The Bordeaux frame comes equipped with dedicated mounting points for various accessories. It is compatible with almost all of Pelago’s proprietary components: Front baskets and racks (e.g., our Stainless Basket), rear racks (e.g., Pelago Cargo Rear Rack for a child seat or panniers), and a sleek aluminium chainguard.
Can I carry a child on the Pelago Bordeaux?
Yes, absolutely. Thanks to its low-step frame, the Bordeaux is excellently suited for carrying a child seat, as mounting and dismounting the bicycle remains highly stable and balanced even with a passenger. For a safe setup, we recommend installing the heavy-duty Pelago Cargo Rear Rack, which is fully compatible with most standard-mount child seats on the market (such as Thule Yepp or Hamax).
How does the Pelago Bordeaux differ from the Pelago Brooklyn?
The Pelago Bordeaux is simply a renamed version of the same popular classic – this bicycle was previously known as the Pelago Brooklyn. There are no technical or geometric differences between the models. It remains the exact same reliable, durable, and timeless steel-framed women’s city bike.
Are lights included with the Pelago Bordeaux?
Whether lights are included depends on the drivetrain model you choose: 1) Bordeaux 7-speed: A hub dynamo along with integrated front and rear lights come standard. The lights turn on automatically as you ride. 2) Bordeaux 3-speed: This model does not include integrated dynamo lights. We recommend purchasing a set of high-quality, rechargeable LED bike lights separately.
Can I buy a bike using an installment plan?
Yes, financing is available both online and in our physical stores. For online purchases, we offer flexible payment options via Klarna. In our Helsinki and Tampere stores, the payment method is Resurs Bank. You can read more about our payment and financing options here.
