A bike is a bike is a bike
So, you want a bike? One that helps you get with swift ease from A to B. And then from B to C. And so on. Here it is, no-nonsense, no frills, no bells and whistles (though a Pelago Bell for signalling is good, sure).
Pelago Bristol is for city cycling, getting going and going places. It draws its inspiration from classic bike aesthetics and, dare we say, is already a modern classic in its own right. It is relevant today and will be relevant for ages to come.
If you want a bike that is a bike and serves as a bike, you’ll want reliability. Well, Bristol delivers there too. Even if you’re after an essential it doesn’t mean basic as in “whatever”, it means quality that will last you for years. You got it here (as always with Pelago).
Reliable all the way
Made with reliable components, Pelago Bristol is smooth and easy to ride. The rigid steel frame and comfortable puncture protected tyres soften road vibrations, whether riding along smooth asphalt, cobblestones or old town cracked surfaces. The robust steel fenders keep you dry from wet splashes.
Comfort is also part of the deal with Bristol, exemplified by the Brooks leather saddle that breaks in like a good pair of leather shoes to adjust to your body.
You can get the Bristol in 3- and 7-speed (with dynamolights) configurations – 3 for overall versatility and 7 if you’re likely to ride in hilly areas or tend to carry cargo.
Like every Pelago, there are mounting points for front and rear racks.

• Frame size (1) is measured from the center of the Bottom Bracket Axis to the top of the Top Tube.
• Rider Height suggests the average sizing for the bike-rider fit. If your height is between two sizes, choose the smaller size for more comfortable riding position.
• Stand Over Height (2) tells the height of the top tube measured from the ground. Your Inseam should always be higher than the Stand Over Height. (2)

What kind of riding is the Pelago Bristol designed for?
The Pelago Bristol is a timeless, minimalist men’s/unisex city bicycle. It excels at daily errands, casual city cruising, and short commutes. The Bristol’s geometry offers a comfortable, upright riding position that reduces strain on your neck and back while providing a clear view of urban traffic. The durable steel frame naturally dampens road vibrations for a smooth ride.
Which frame size is right for me?
The Bristol is available in two frame sizes: S (52 cm) and M (56 cm). View our detailed sizing chart in the Pelago Size Guide. Since the Bristol features a traditional high top-tube diamond frame, check that your inseam is slightly taller than the frame’s standover height. If you fall between two sizes, choose the smaller option for a more agile feel. For personalized help, contact us at contact@pelagobicycles.com.
What kind of accessories can be installed on the Pelago Bristol
The Bristol is designed to be easily customized for your daily routines. The frame features integrated mounting points compatible with almost all Pelago accessories: Front baskets and racks (e.g., the versatile Pelago Rasket or Commuter Front Rack
), rear racks (e.g., Pelago Cargo Rear Rack), and an elegant aluminium chainguard.
Can I carry a child on the Pelago Bristol?
Yes, you can. The robust steel frame makes the Bristol a very stable and safe choice for transporting a child. We recommend pairing the bike with the heavy-duty Pelago Cargo Rear Rack. This sturdy platform easily and securely accommodates nearly any standard rack-mounted child seat available (such as Thule Yepp or Hamax).
What is the difference between the Pelago Hanko (Commuter) and the Pelago Bristol?
While both are premium steel-framed models, they target different types of riding, weight classes, and materials:
1) Pelago Hanko (Commuter): A more advanced, technical, and lighter high-performance machine built for longer distances, featuring a double-butted chromoly (Cr-Mo) frame, a premium Shimano Alfine hub, hydraulic disc brakes, and a hub dynamo with integrated lights as standard.
2) Pelago Bristol: A traditional, simplified classic designed for effortless city cruising, built from robust high-tensile steel and equipped with Shimano Nexus gears and rim/coaster brakes.
Are lights included with the Pelago Bristol
Light configuration depends on your choice of gearing: 1) Bristol 7-speed: A hub dynamo and integrated front and rear lights come standard. 2) Bristol 3-speed: This model does not include dynamo lights. We recommend equipping the bike with rechargeable LED bike lights.
Can I buy a bike using an installment plan?
Yes, financing is available both online and in our physical stores. For online purchases, we offer flexible payment options via Klarna. In our Helsinki and Tampere stores, the payment method is Resurs Bank. You can read more about our payment and financing options here.
